On April 14, 2001 a little foal was born. He was smaller than the other foals in the barn. But he was going to be a race horse just like the others. His mother was Tella Gate and his dad was Lost Soldier, so they named him Tella Soldier. He would go one to be a terrible race horse. He was on the track for two years until he shattered his patella and had to retire from the race track. Once off the race track Tella Soldier's name would be changed to Just Teddy.
Now after nine years of being off the track Teddy has become a very successful event horse. Correction Teddy has become my very successful event horse as of April 2011. This blog is about the funny little things my horse does as well as what I dig up about his past.

Sam, Yes, it sounds like Teddy is one lucky horse! I really admire organizations like Canter that aim to protect “retired” race horses. It sounds like Teddy, despite his heritage, did not have a very successful racing “career.” I was under the wrong impression that once a horse broke a leg they had to be euthanized. I’m happy to hear that Teddy made a great recovery! How long have you been riding? You and Teddy compete now, what is your favorite event? Please include some pictures of Teddy in your blog, they would really help to personalize your story. You’re off to a good start with your blog; I’m looking forward to returning soon to read (and learn) more! Mrs. A.
